Founder of the company have started the business in 1986 as the importer and distributor of various types of industrial spare parts, supplying manufacturers throughout
Indonesian archipelago, as well as distributing coated abrasive products. As coated abrasive market increased significantly in the early 90’s, the market growth was very promising in Indonesia and Asian markets, the company then decided to establish PT. Bahtera Indoamplas Gemilang in 1995 as 100% privately owned domestic investment of a coated abrasive manufacturer.
